🍂 September Craft & Chat registration is OPEN NOW!

Join us Sunday, September 13 from 1–3 PM for our fall-themed Craft & Chat!

Bring a project of your own and create alongside fellow local crafters, or take part in this month’s featured fall craft — a handmade bookmark, perfect for cozying up with your fall reading!

Supplies for the bookmark craft will be provided, and you’re welcome to bring your own materials if you’d rather work on something of your own. Coffee, water and hot chocolate will be provided.

Please note: Preregistration is now required for Craft & Chat. Drop-ins will no longer be available so we can make sure there is enough space and supplies for everyone. Cost of the program is $5 for residents/$10 for non-residents.

Register by Thursday, September 10 to secure your spot!

Register online here: https://bit.ly/septcraftandchat

Have questions? Call Port Huron Recreation at 810-984-9760.

Each upcoming Craft & Chat will feature a new monthly theme, so there will always be something new to create. 🎨

🎃 CALLING LOCAL BUSINESSES, ORGANIZATIONS & COMMUNITY PARTNERS! 🎃

Are you looking for a fun and meaningful way to get involved in your community? We’d love to have you join the City of Port Huron Recreation Department’s annual Halloween Stroll! 🧡

📅 Saturday, October 24
⏰ 10:00 AM–2:00 PM
📍 Sanborn Park

Our Halloween Stroll brings children and families together for a fun, festive walk through Halloween-themed stations featuring costumes, treats, decorations, activities and plenty of seasonal fun! 👻🍬

🕸️ HOST A HALLOWEEN STATION!
Local businesses, organizations and community groups are invited to create their own youth-friendly Halloween station and help make the event special for local families!

Station Responsibilities:
🕸️ Provide a station with a Halloween-themed scene and/or costumed characters
🍬 Supply treats for approximately 1,000 children
⏰ Have your station set up and ready to go from 9:30 AM–2:00 PM
🕷️ Get creative with decorations and create a fun, family-friendly experience!
Please remember: Stations should be youth-friendly and fun—not scary. No blood or gore, please. 🚫 Please do not use guns or weapons of any kind.

Whether you go all out with decorations, dress in costume, create a fun activity, or simply hand out treats, we’d love to have you participate!

CAN’T ATTEND WITH A STATION?

We’re also looking for community sponsors to help make this the best Halloween Stroll to date!

Your sponsorship helps the Recreation Department provide a safe, fun and memorable Halloween experience for families throughout the Port Huron area, while giving your business a great opportunity to connect with the community and gain event visibility. 🤝🧡

Interested in sponsoring, hosting a station, or both? We’d love to have you be part of the event!

📅 Station Partner deadline: October 16
📅 Sponsorship deadline: October 9
📞 Questions or interested in participating? Please contact Renee Lasher at
(810) 984-9760 or [email protected] for opportunity specifics.

What a fantastic night of music, food, family and fun! 🎶❤️

Our Rockin' the Rivers event was a great way to bring the community together, with an awesome lineup of live music 🎤, delicious food trucks 🍔, and plenty of fun for the kids in our Kid Zone 🎨. Most importantly, we loved seeing so many families, friends and neighbors enjoying the evening together!

A big THANK YOU to everyone who came out and made the night such a great success! 🙌 And of course, thank you to our generous sponsors whose support helps Port Huron Recreation continue to provide fun, free and memorable experiences for our community. ❤️

To celebrate the ending of our Camp Palmer Day Camp season, we invited Marysville-based illustrator and Funko Pop toy designer, Haileigh Roehl, to meet our campers! ✨

📚 The campers settled in for story time as Haileigh read aloud Candy’s Colorful World, a book she illustrated about Candy the chameleon, who is looking to add some color to her world. 🌈🦎

🖍️ Following story time, the kids got creative and designed their own colorful chameleons, with step-by-step instruction from Haileigh!

What a fun and creative way to wrap up an amazing summer at Camp Palmer! 💚
