The City of Port is reminding residents and visitors to exercise caution during this weather event. Several inches of rain are expected over the next couple of hours.

Public Works crews are working to ensure storm water flows, and any debris is collected.

Today, we honor the heroes who gave everything for our freedom. Gone but never forgotten. Port Isabel City Hall will be closed on Monday, May 25th, in observance of Memorial Day.

Regular hours (8a.m. to 5 p.m.) will resume on Tuesday, May 26th. Emergency services will continue through the Memorial Day holiday.

Port Isabel's American Legion Post 498 will host a Memorial Day Ceremony at 10 a.m., Monday, May 25, 2026, to Remember, Honor, Never Forget. Port Isabel Veteran's Park on South Shore Drive. All are welcome to help us support Community ~ Country ~ Veterans. We Honor the brave who made the ultimate sacrifice.

SpaceX Set to Launch Starship’s Twelfth Flight Test
Noise Advisory

SpaceX is targeting Friday, May 22 for the twelfth integrated flight test of Starship from Starbase in Cameron County, Texas. The 90-minute test window opens at 5:30 p.m. CT.

Residents of Cameron County and those in the nearby area may hear a loud noise resulting from the rocket’s 33 Raptor engines firing upon ignition and as the vehicle launches toward space, but what people experience will depend on weather and other conditions.

SpaceX’s live webcast will go live approximately 45 minutes before liftoff at X and spacex.com/launches. Live updates will also be available on X
