School is back, which means more children, buses, pedestrians, and traffic on our roads.

🚗 Please slow down, stay alert, and drive safely.
🛑 Obey all traffic laws and stop for school buses with flashing red lights.
🚸 Watch carefully for children crossing streets and entering or exiting vehicles.

Let’s all do our part to make sure our kids have a safe start to the school year!!

This evening, the Terryville Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle fire on Ciliotta Lane with the flames threatening a nearby home.

Engine 12, Truck 4, and Engine 2 arrived within minutes to find the vehicle well involved. Crews immediately deployed handlines and launched an aggressive fire attack, quickly knocking down the flames before they could spread to the residence.

Thanks to the fast response and outstanding teamwork of our firefighters, the fire was brought under control with no significant extension into the home.

Another outstanding job by all of our members who responded and helped protect lives and property. 🚒🔥

🚒 Probationary Firefighter Training Continues 🚒

This morning, our probationary firefighters participated in a live vehicle fire training evolution, gaining valuable hands-on experience in a controlled environment.

Training focused on proper vehicle fire extinguishment techniques, hose handling skills, and air management while operating on SCBA. These critical skills help prepare our newest members to safely and effectively respond to real-world emergencies.

We are proud of the dedication and commitment shown by this class as they continue their journey toward becoming fully qualified firefighters.

A strong foundation in training today builds a safer community tomorrow.

This Memorial Day, the members of the Terryville Fire Department honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to protecting our freedoms will never be forgotten. We also keep their families and loved ones in our thoughts today and every day.

May we always remember those who gave everything for our nation.
