The Orange County Board of Elections is actively seeking election day workers. Election day workers provide a critical public service that keeps polling locations in Minisink and across the county running on Election Day.

This is a great chance to play a role in American democracy and get paid for it.

FYI:

If you receive an emergency text alert tomorrow from Orange County Government, IT IS ONLY A TEST.

The county will be conducting an emergency preparedness drill tomorrow, and a test of the text messaging system will take place.

THIS IS ONLY A DRILL

🚨 REMINDER - ORANGE COUNTY EMERGENCY EXERCISE TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9

Tomorrow, Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus and the Orange County Department of Emergency Services will conduct a large-scale emergency exercise simulating a significant flooding event across Orange County.

⚠️THIS IS ONLY A TEST.
County departments and emergency response partners working together in the Emergency Operations Center will be on hand to test how we coordinate, communicate, manage resources, and respond during a major emergency.

📱 Residents may also receive a TEST emergency alert as part of the exercise.

Orange County will be testing its Countywide Emergency Alert System during the exercise. Compatible mobile devices within the targeted area may automatically receive the test message - no registration is required.

⚠️ If you receive an emergency alert on September 9 as part of this exercise, THIS IS ONLY A TEST. There is no emergency, and no action is required.

September is National Emergency Preparedness Month, making it the perfect time to test the systems, plans, and partnerships we rely on when a real emergency happens.

The Minisink Town Republican Committee is excited to announce our 2026 ticket. This is the first town election to take place under New York's new even-year election calendar.

Here is our 2026 ticket in ballot order:

BARBARA CLIFFORD is seeking her third term as Town Supervisor. Barbara has been working hard to improve town services and communication with town residents. Enhancements have been made to the town website, and periodic mailings have been sent out to inform residents of upcoming events. Barbara has hosted town meetings to gather feedback from residents on issues of concern as part of the ongoing comprehensive plan committee process. She works hard with the other members of the town board to keep expenses and town taxes under control.

SALLY CRAWFORD is seeking a new term as our Town Clerk. Sally works hard to ensure effective record-keeping, and she is often the person you will deal with when seeking assistance navigating town government. She looks forward to serving you for another two years as clerk.

JAMES BOOTH is the newcomer to the town ticket as a candidate for Town Justice. However, Jim is not new to serving the Town of Minisink. He is currently on the Comprehensive Plan Committee, which is working to create a blueprint for the future of our town in the years to come. Jim brings an extensive resume of over 30 years of service in local government in Orange County. Jim has always had a strong interest in the law and pledges to be a fair and impartial jurist while serving on the bench.

STACEY DRAKE is seeking a new term as our Tax Collector. No one likes paying taxes, but Stacey works incredibly hard to ensure your experience paying them goes smoothly. She looks forward to serving you for another 2-year term.

JAMES LAIN, our incredibly capable Highway Superintendent, seeks a new term to continue his work ensuring our town roads are in the best shape they can be. (Please don't blame him for Route 284; he has no control over its condition) Many roads have been recently resurfaced, and when it snows, we can count on Jim's team at the Highway Garage to keep our roads clear.

This is your 2026 team of dedicated, experienced, and involved leaders who seek your support to lead our great town.

General Election Day - Tuesday, November 3, 2026
