🇺🇸 Freedom Isn’t Free

Today, we remember the men and women who gave everything so we could have everything. Their sacrifice is the foundation of our freedom.

From our family at Port Neches Fire Department — thank you to all who served, and to the families who carry them in your hearts every day.

Stay safe and drive with caution

Switch gears to flood safety tips DURING a flood event. Do you know what to do when flooding occurs in your area? Do you know where to get the latest information on road conditions and the forecast?

During a flood, water levels and the rate water is flowing can QUICKLY change. If your area is experiencing flash flooding or heavy rainfall: get to higher ground, do NOT drive through flooded roadways (you do not know how deep the water is), and stay up to date on the latest weather information.

Floodwaters can contain harmful chemicals and objects that could harm you or make you sick, so please do not swim in it.

In the event of catastrophic flooding, move to a higher floor if possible. Do NOT attempt to travel on the flooded roads. If the highest flood becomes dangerous, get on the roof and call 911. Do NOT stay in the attic.

Floodwaters can be VERY difficult, if not impossible, to see at night. Always use extra caution when driving, do NOT drive around barricades, and stay informed with your local authorities. Always remember: Turn around, don’t drown. Week

Update- road is clear and all lanes open

Port Neches emergency crew on scene for a stalled tractor-trailer at 366 (eastbound) just past Pine. No leaks, no injuries, and no hazards reported. Traffic is being detoured as the wrecker clears the road. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes until the trailer is removed and the lanes are open.

🚗✂️ Training Night | Vehicle Extrication

Last night our volunteers tore into some hands-on vehicle extrication training — literally. From popping doors to peeling roofs, these are the skills that save lives when seconds count.

Big thanks to American Towing for donating the training vehicle! 🙌

🔥 Interested in joining the team? Stop by 606 Magnolia Avenue and pick up a volunteer firefighter application. No experience necessary — just the drive to serve.

Over the next two days, starting on 5/11/2026, Texas Gas has notified us that they will be conducting work to replace their odorant tank along Hwy 366 in front of TPC, by the blue pipes.
Natural gas by itself is an odorless gas. The tanks being replaced are filled with an odorant called Mercaptan. The tank holds the odor that is later put into natural gas to give it a distinct smell.

While we will still respond to any call for service involving potential gas leaks, our community may notice the odor of this mercaptan when a small amount escapes. The odor itself is not harmful to the public. However, when in doubt, call 911.

PNFD will remain vigilant for any adverse impact on our community.

🫀 A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out Saturday!

Our Friends & Family CPR class was a success, and it’s all thanks to the incredible instructors who gave their time and expertise to teach our community this vital skill. These are the folks who made sure you left knowing exactly what to do when it matters most — give them some love! ❤️

Did you know that nearly 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of a hospital every year in the U.S.? When CPR is performed immediately, it can double or even triple a person’s chance of survival. The people in this photo are helping change those odds — one class at a time. That’s not just training. That’s lives saved.

If you missed out this time, don’t worry — we’ll be bringing this training back in the fall of 2026. Stay tuned to this page so you don’t miss your next chance to learn a skill that could mean the difference between life and death for someone you love.

A special thank you to all of our partner agencies and healthcare organizations who made this event possible. It takes a community. 🙌
