🍎💙 As the school year comes to a close, we want to thank our VCS teachers for everything you’ve given to your students, schools, and communities this year.

The long days, the encouragement, the patience, the celebrations, and the support — it all matters, and it all makes a difference. Because of you, students learned, grew, gained confidence, and created memories that will stay with them long after this school year ends.

Monday, June 1 is the last day for teachers, and we hope this summer brings you time to rest, recharge, and enjoy a well-earned break. 🌴☀️

Our 5th graders had a whale of a time today on their field study to SeaWorld! 🐋🌊 From exciting shows to up-close animal encounters, the day was filled with oceans of fun and unforgettable memories. On Friday, we celebrated another amazing year with our annual House Games event! Our students had a blast competing in games, showing teamwork and sportsmanship, and enjoying all of the inflatable activities throughout the day.

📆Reminder: Volusia County Schools will be closed on Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day. Schools and district offices will reopen Tuesday, May 26 👈

Memorial Day carries a meaning that goes well beyond a long weekend or the unofficial start of summer. At its core, it’s a day set aside to honor and remember the men and women of the U.S. military who died while serving their country. ❤️🤍🩵

We encourage our students, families, and staff to take a moment this weekend to reflect on the sacrifices made by our nation’s heroes.

Yesterday, we had the honor of celebrating our former POE Tigers who will be graduating high school this year during our annual Grad Walk! 🎓🐾

It was a special moment as our graduating seniors walked the halls of Port Orange Elementary once again, inspiring our current students and reminding us all that once a Tiger, always a Tiger. We are so proud of all they have accomplished and can’t wait to see the amazing things they will do next. Congratulations, Class of 2026! 💚🧡 Volusia County Schools
