Just one of the important stops during the week-long Youth Civic Leadership Experience earlier this month! Way to go!

City employees, Junos Reed and Steve Parnell, led the Environmental Day for the Youth Civic Leadership Experience on June 10. The students participated in a shoreline cleanup around the Riverwalk Park area and in just 40 minutes of actual cleanup, 15 students were able to collect around 250lbs of trash! A few items that were pulled from along the river included: a tire, old floating turbidity barrier, aluminum cans, clothing, plastic bottles, fishing line, face masks, and much more.

Way to go team in keeping our city pretty!

It's time to begin planning the 2020 Leadership Program, and we invite all Leadership Alumni to be involved on the Steering Committee. The first Steering Committee meeting will be Tuesday, March 24, 3:30 p.m. at the Chamber. Joe Coury from Effective Strategies will be chairing the Leadership Program again this year.

As part of this team, you will help review what has been great about the program and what can be improved for the 2020 Class. Each day of the program will be assigned to steering committee members, so please be thinking about which day you would like to help plan. Also, we will be discussing a Leadership Graduation separate from the Chamber Annual Banquet this year, and we invite the Alumni to be a big part of planning this event.

Please let me know if you are able to attend the committee meeting by calling 386-761-1601 or at [email protected].
