It's time again for the monthly Project Food drive for our South Kitsap neighbors in need! In honor of the 4th annual "Soup Off" fundraiser happening on September 26th (the event link is below for information!), this month we will be collecting non-perishable canned/boxed/pouched soups of all kinds to help restock our food bank shelves!

We had some REALLY great food drives last month that resulted in many more donations which we truly appreciate. Food drives help us so much, especially during this time of year when donations are few and far between! Still, with your support, we were able to distribute 239,554 lbs. of food just in August alone to more than 2,100 local households.

If you'd like to help out, soup donations can be dropped off during our regular donation hours of Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 10-5 here at 4215 SE Mile Hill Drive. You can also use the link below to contribute if that is more convenient: https://skhelpline.org/give/

With pouring rain predicted for tomorrow, the Wednesday Farmers Market in our parking lot at 4215 Mile Hill in Port Orchard on Wednesday, September 2nd will unfortunately not be happening.

Do you have paperwork to shred? On Saturday, October 10th our friends at Kitsap Bank will be holding their annual Shred to Fed event in Port Orchard to benefit our agency.

Stop by the Bethel branch between 9 am and 12 pm, make a donation and get a few of those boxes taking up space in your spare room out of there once and for all!

The 4th Annual Soup Off is just around the corner. Try tastes of delicious soups from local restaurants and help your community!

Join us for the 4th Annual Empty Bowls Soup Off benefitting South Kitsap Helpline!

📍 The Gazebo at the Port Orchard Farmers Market
📅 Saturday, September 26

Come down to taste an incredible variety of soups made by local restaurants and market food vendors, and purchase artisan bowls created by local potters. Bowls will be available for purchase beginning at 9AM, and soup tasting begins at 11AM. Each person participating in the soup tasting will receive one ticket to vote for the "Best Soup" and the winner will be announced at 1PM! All proceeds will support our friends at South Kitsap Helpline and further our mutual goal to provide access to healthy food for our neighbors across South Kitsap.

🥘 We are seeking restaurants to donate a pot or two of soup for the event's tasting. Compete against local restaurants for the title of Favorite Soup and the chance to take home the coveted Chef Gnome Trophy!

🏺 We are seeking handmade pottery donations from local artisans-- our goal is to gather 150-200 pieces to make available for purchase on event day. Donations can be a range of items: bowls, mugs, small dishes, vases, and a few larger pieces will also be accepted. For questions, email [email protected].

We are here at CLC in Port Orchard today for their awesome annual car show so be sure to come by our booth for all kinds of information and resources! And some candy, of course. 😊

CLC is holding their 29th annual car show tomorrow! There will be community booths (we’ll be there!), food, fun and of course, LOTS of super cool cars!
