Great news! Do you know that if you are eligible to receive SUN Bucks for your children, those summer grocery benefits can be used to also purchase at local farmers markets like the Port Orchard Farmers Market?

We've started processing SUN Bucks benefits following a delay in federal funding. All eligible children are getting new SUN Bucks cards for summer 2026. Old cards have been deactivated and will show as “lost” or “stolen” in the ebtEDGE app or when you call the number on the back of the card.
*Please don’t request a replacement card.* New cards will be mailed automatically. Card delivery times will vary and might take longer than expected due to card vendor processing times.
If you have a question about the status of your new card, please call the SUN Bucks Contact Center at 833-543-3230. For answers to your frequently asked questions or to sign up for text alerts, go to dshs.wa.gov/sunbucks.

Sometimes plans change, and unfortunately the West Sound Beekeepers Association is not able to join us with their observation hive. But thanks to the wonderful people who make our market community so special, we've got an awesome expert stepping in!

🍯 Meet the Beekeeper with Shipwreck Apiaries at the Power of Produce Kids Club. Kids can get hands-on exploring the tools beekeepers use to care for their bees, ask all their buzzing questions, and sample a honey stick featuring Shipwreck's delicious local honey.

📚 Visit The Kiwanis Club of Port Orchard booth (next to the POP Kids Club!) for Market Story Time at 9:30, 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, and 1:30.

Community Service Day with our Windermere Professional Partners Port Orchard crew! ✨

Our team had the opportunity to spend the day serving at South Kitsap Helpline — helping with yard work, unloading deliveries, packing snack bags, and supporting community members as they shopped for food pantry items.

We’re so grateful for the chance to give back and support an organization that does so much for our local neighbors. 💙

Our friends at Port Orchard United Methodist Church always take time to check in each month with us to see how they can help and we are so grateful!

Please consider donating granola bars or cereal bars to help them assist us in feeding local children this summer! Thank you very much!

When kids are home for the summer they need snacks and items for their lunches. South Kitsap Helpline has asked for Granola Bars and/or Cereal Bars. So let's help them out!
