A rollover in a parking lot landed a driver in jail on suspicion of driving drunk.

Kitsap County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the call of an SUV lying on its side in a parking lot in the 10700 block of Silverdale Way NW around 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 31st.

The driver told Deputies he was exiting the parking lot when he accidentally kept pressing the gas pedal, losing control of the vehicle and rolling it. Neither the driver nor the passenger was injured in the incident.

The 22-year-old Port Townsend man voluntarily submitted to a portable breathalyzer test that measured his blood alcohol concentration at more than twice the legal limit of .08.

He was booked into the Kitsap County Jail on suspicion of DUI.

A 14-year-old Silverdale boy faces a robbery charge following an incident at a Bremerton supermarket.

A shopper told Kitsap County Sheriff's Deputies he witnessed the teenager shoplifting inside the store around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday May 28th and confronted him.

The man said the teenager responded by striking him multiple times and threatening to pull a gun before running toward the exit.

The shopper and a companion pursued the teenager outside, where they held him until deputies arrived.

Deputies searched the boy's backpack and recovered a stolen item from the store. No weapon was found on the teenager or in his possession.

The teenager was booked into the Kitsap County Juvenile Detention Center on suspicion of second-degree robbery.

The charge was elevated to robbery due to the physical assault and the verbal threat made during the incident.
