📚 Rivers Edge Curriculum Nights

Join us for Rivers Edge Curriculum Nights and learn more about your child’s grade-level curriculum, academic expectations, classroom routines, and ways you can support learning at home. This is a great opportunity to meet with teachers, ask questions, and strengthen the partnership between home and school as we work together to help every Otter succeed.

At Rivers Edge Elementary, we are fortunate to have two incredible school counselors dedicated to supporting the academic, social, and emotional success of our Otters every day.

✨ Mrs. Gutierrez serves our students in VPK/Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, and 4th Grade.
✨ Ms. Suglia serves our students in 1st Grade, 3rd Grade, and 5th Grade.

Whether they’re helping students navigate challenges, build friendships, develop positive coping skills, or celebrate their successes, our counselors play an important role in helping every child feel supported, connected, and ready to learn.

Join us for our first All Pro Dad meeting of the school year on Friday, September 11th at 7:30 AM! 🍳☕

All Pro Dad provides a special opportunity for dads and father figures to spend quality time with their children while building stronger relationships. Once each month, you'll join other fathers, father figures, and students for a fun, engaging, and memory-making event right here at school.

🥞🦦 Meet Our Amazing Child Nutrition Team! 🦦🥞

At Rivers Edge Elementary, we are so grateful for the incredible Child Nutrition team that helps fuel our Otters each and every day! From serving nutritious lunches to greeting students with a smile each morning, this dedicated team works hard to ensure our students are ready to learn and thrive.

Did you know that FREE breakfast is available to ALL Rivers Edge students every school day? Students can stop by the cafeteria before the start of instruction to enjoy a healthy breakfast at no cost. Research shows that students who eat breakfast are better prepared to focus, learn, and succeed throughout the day.

🩺📢 Health Screenings Coming Soon!

Rivers Edge Elementary will conduct student health screenings on Thursday, September 17, 2026. Screenings may include vision, hearing, height and weight, scoliosis, and dental checks.

✅ Parents, please log in to Skyward and complete the Health Screening Consent Form by September 10.

Need a paper form? Contact the front office, and we'll send one home.

📚 Building Reading Fluency Through Partner Practice!

In Ms. Weis’ class, students worked together to strengthen their reading fluency by identifying vowel patterns and reading words accurately and efficiently.
Through partner practice, they supported one another while building the skills and confidence needed to become stronger readers! 💙🦦

🐾 This week in Ms. Whitehead's second grade class, students teamed up with classmates to solve addition and subtraction problems within 20 while looking for patterns and clues. Through collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving, they reviewed key math skills and prepared for their first math assessment!

🦦 This week in Mrs. Williams’ class students practiced important reading and math skills during center rotations while working together, staying engaged, and building their confidence. 📚➕✏️

Their hard work paid off as they earned their first $50 in Class Otter Bucks! 💵 To celebrate, they redeemed their earnings for a fun-filled dance party! 🎉💃🕺
