📚🌞 We Are So Excited to Kick Off Our Sunshine State Readers Program Again! 🌞📚

Windmill Point students in grades 1st-5th are invited to participate in the Sunshine State Young Readers Award (SSYRA) Program, a statewide reading program designed to encourage a love of reading and help students grow as readers! Students will have the opportunity to read exciting SSYRA books throughout the school year and earn fun incentives along the way.

✅ Books can be checked out from our Media Center or borrowed from local libraries.
✅ Participation is completely voluntary.
✅ Students can earn brag tags, treats, and even a special end-of-year SSYRA celebration by reading books and completing summaries. Classroom teachers will provide your student with the information needed to complete the books & earn credit for our amazing incentives this year!

We hope you'll encourage your child to join us on this reading adventure and discover some amazing books this year! Attached, you will find the books for your students' grade level. Grades 3-5 will complete the books with the white background & 1st & 2nd will be completing the SSYRA Junior Books with the pink background.❤️📖

Wildcats, let’s build a love of reading together!

The New Worlds Reading Initiative provides free books and reading resources for eligible Florida students in VPK–5th grade who are not yet reading on grade level.

Families can apply in just a few minutes, and eligible students can receive books delivered right to their homes throughout the school year.

Even better—by participating, our students can help Windmill Point Elementary earn a chance to win $10,000 for our school!

The School Store Fundraiser will begin this coming Monday, August 24. Teachers will pass out the lanyards on Monday and families can begin signing up that evening. They can sign up any time, and their child will receive a book buddy stuffed animal within 3 days of submitting their lanyard with a VALID prize code.
