The Lawrence Street Project is set to begin this month. There is a Landmark Tree located on the northwest corner of Pierce and Lawrence Street within the project corridor. The tree is a 70-foot-tall California Live Oak, quercus agrifolia nee, of unknown age. It will be preserved and protected over the course of the project. The Landmark Tree has been reviewed by local certified arborist, Richard Hefley, who made recommendations on how best to protect the tree in the design and during construction.

Watch for temporary no parking signs, orange cones, and striping trucks, especially along Sheridan between Hwy 20 and 19th St, and Monroe from Water to Roosevelt. Please be mindful of wet paint and drive slowly through these zones to accommodate the striping trucks and crew. Thank you!

Calling all musicians, actors, poets, writers, dancers, comedians, singers, magicians, and more! Performances for the People will hold a series of (4) events beginning Saturday, October 3 from 3:00-5:00 pm and is open to all types of performing artists. Three 35-minute performances will be scheduled in a “variety show” style, with all performance genres welcome. Stripped-down and acoustic performances are suggested, as there is minimal space for scenery or large equipment, and the historic space needs to be treated in a leave-no-trace style.
