Today was a proud day for our fire company as we picked up our newest engine from South Eastern Adam’s volunteer emergency services, replacing the current 1993 Engine that has served us the past 8 years. The new engine is equipped with a 1750 GPM pump and 1500 Gallons of water.

A huge thank you to Chief Kenton Martin for organizing the purchase and helping make this milestone possible. We’d also like to thank all of our members past and present for their dedication and countless hours of fundraising that made this investment a reality.

For a volunteer fire company that relies on the support of its members and our community, a purchase like this is no small feat. Every fundraiser, donation, and hour volunteered helped bring us to this day.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our department. We can’t wait to put our new engine into service and continue serving our community with pride.

The Port Trevorton Fire Company would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Rescue Techs LLC. for hosting our Heavy Rescue Class over the last two weekends and providing an incredible training opportunity for our members.

And a special thanks to Adam Transportation, LLC for the bus that’s featured in may of these photos.

This class brought together members from the Port Trevorton Fire Company, New Buffalo Fire Company, Fremont Fire Department, and Liverpool Fire Rescue, allowing our crews to train alongside each other and expand their knowledge in heavy rescue operations.

Throughout the course, members received hands-on training in vehicle extrication, stabilization, lifting with airbags, rigging, winching, and many other critical heavy rescue skills. Rescue Techs Training provided realistic scenarios and real life training environments that challenged our members to think through complex incidents involving heavy vehicles and equipment.

Training opportunities like this allow fire departments to receive specialized instruction and hands on experience that directly improves our ability to respond and better serve our communities.

Thank you to Rescue Techs Training for sharing your knowledge, expertise, and dedication to helping firefighters improve their skills. We truly appreciate the time and effort put into making this training a success.

The Port Trevorton fire company would like to extend a special thank you to Central Builders Supply Company for their donation of a retired concrete truck to be used during our heavy rescue class. The truck was used for demonstrations of stabilization and extrication and was crucial in providing hands on experience and training with heavy equipment. Thank you again for your meaningful contributions and being a big part in making the class possible!

We would like to give a special thank you to Keller's Auto Body, Inc for their contributions while our department conducted a Heavy Rescue class over the last two weekends. They generously allowed the departments to utilize their property to host the class and provide a safe training environment. They also provided a 60 ton rotator and a 40 ton rollback and many vehicles for live demonstrations. We would also like to extend our Gratitude to Matt Keller and Cody Keller for attending the class on its final day and providing lunch for our crews, And Shane Simcox for arranging all of the live training scenes. Contributions from businesses in the community make training events like these ones possible for our members. The department would also like to highly recommend Keller’s Towing and Recovery to anyone in need of towing or recovery services. Last evening crews from Port Trevorton and Freeburg got together to do some water supply training. Engine 60 pulled a dual draft and supplied Engine 30. Engine 30 had their deck gun in operation and supplied Squad 60. Squad 60 operated there deck gun, blitz fire and 2 1/2. All combined units were flowing appropriately 2000 gallons per minute.

5/6/2026 at 8:25am units were dispatched to Union township box 60-1 for a reported house fire. Squad 60 and cheif 63 arrived to find a working fire in the attic and placed one line in service. Tanker 70 arrived and supplied water while tower 80 and engine 30 laddered the building. Squad 100 arrived and placed a second line in service and assisted with overhaul. Engine 60 established a fill sight before continuing in to the scene to assist with overhaul. Units operated for 2 hours before going available. Units on scene Engine’s 60,30 Squad’s 60,100,90 Tanker’s 60,70,5 Tower 80 Rescue 50. Thank you to New Buffalo tanker 9 for standing by at our station while units operated at the fire.

Tomorrow is the big day come out to the 18th annual Freport consignment auction. Saturday April 25 across from Whispering Pines fruit farm. Auction starts at 8:15 AM and will run rain or shine. We hope to see you there.

04/05/2026

3/31/26 tanker and utility 60 were dispatched to Troup valley rd in Perry township to assist company 100 and multiple other departments for a brush fire. Units were on scene for 6 hours before being released by command 100.

3/31/26 while units were still operating on the brush fires on Troup valley rd utility 60 was redirected to Pine swamp rd in Perry township for a second brush fire. Utility 60 operated on scene for 2 1/2 hours before returning to the Troup valley fire.

4/4/26 company 60 and 30 were dispatched to Rooster rd in Union township for a brush fire. Cheif 62 arrived to find a small fire extinguished by the homeowner and held the box to engine 60. Units were on scene for approximately 20 minutes before returning.

4/4/26 company 60 was dispatched to S Susquehanna trail in Union township for a tree down. While responding units were advised by CSR911 that a vehicle had struck the tree. Cheif 62 arrived to find 7 vehicles had struck the tree. No injuries were reported. Squad and engine 60 operated for 1 1/2 hours.
