Today is Heat Awareness Day in Wisconsin, a reminder to stay safe during hot weather.

Heat-related illness can happen quickly — especially for children, older adults, and pets.

- Never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle, even for a few minutes.
- Always check the back seat before locking your car.
- Stay hydrated and take breaks in the shade or air conditioning during hot weather.
