Atlantic Hook & Ladder Co.1 Atlantic Hook & Ladder Co.1 is the ONLY truck company of the Port Washington Fire Department. Members preform all fire and rescue duties, voluntarily.

Atlantic Hook & Ladder Co.1 was the first organized fire company in Port Washington. AH&L operates out of two firehouses; their main headquarters on Carlton Avenue, and their Annex building located on Avenue A in the Terrace section of town. The mascot for Co.1 is known as the "Rowdy." AH&L operates with seven pieces of apparatus, each with a unique numerical distinction. As a "truck company," Atl

antic Hook & Ladder utilizes five firetrucks. Firetrucks include: a 95' Ladder Tower (8517), a 110' Aerial Ladder (8516), a Heavy Rescue (8522), a Light/Rehab Unit (8518), and a newly purchased 109' Aerial Ladder (8519). Also, Atlantic Hook & Ladder owns two utility vehicles, a passenger van (8520) and a pickup truck (8523). All seven units are cleaned, checked, and maintained by the members of Co. 1.

The Officers and members of the Atlantic Hook & Ladder Co.1 regret to announce the untimely passing of 56 year member, Ex-President of AH&L and former Vice-Chairman of the Department Board of Directors Charles Bollerman. Charles served as the President from 2000-2001.

Father to active member of Atlantic Hook & Ladder Co. 1 Ex-Chief and Ex-Chairman of both the 8th Battalion & PWFD, current Treasurer of the Department Board of Directors Christopher Bollerman and Grandfather to active member of Atlantic Hook & Ladder Co.1 and Department Training officer Ryan Bollerman.

Charles you will be deeply missed by all and we thank you for your service and dedication to not only the Company but the Department.

Just after midnight tonight the pwfd was toned out for a car vs garage in the park section of the district. Rescue 8522 responded first due and quickly used there paratech struts to shore up the house which had structural damage. With the assistance of trt rig 8525 and a minor trt matrix activation bringing in crews from Elmont, Rockville centre, and mlfd crews installed temporary shoring to prevent any further possible collapse.
