Recently I asked one of our classes if everyone has thoughts? Surprisingly our students answered no. In our classes we teach this concept and get our students to figure out what another persons thoughts might be. Using funny pictures is a great way to help our students do this. So...Can you figure out what this boy might be thinking???

When talking to people we are actively engaged. We look at the person we are talking to not only to see if they are listening, but to read their emotions. We interpret those emotions to figure out what the listener may be thinking about what we are saying. Many of our students do not know they should be doing this. Let your child know they should be reading our reactions to figure out what we might be thinking.

Eyes are a powerful thing. We use our eyes to do more than just look, we use them to send clear messages to other people. When professionals use the term "eye contact" they are talking about how good we are at this skill.
To help our students learn to master this skill we have to let them know what the importance of eye contact is. We call it "Thinking with your eyes"
