🌸 Spring SMART Seminars are back in North Hempstead — and we were thrilled to host one at our center.🌸

SMART helps seniors confidently use tech like smartphones, Wi-Fi, email, online grocery shopping, telehealth, social media, video calls, online banking, and scam protection. 💻📱

Our tech hero, Jessica, gave hands-on help to nearly 20 members, guiding them through devices and apps in a friendly, relaxed setting. Thank you, Jessica.

So proud to share that our very own PWAAC board member and longtime friend, Warren Schein, was honored today at the Town of North Hempstead Senior Recognition Luncheon! 🎉

Warren has given over 20 years of his heart and soul to the Port Washington Adult Activities Center — including four years as Board President — always advocating for and supporting the needs of our members.

But what truly makes Warren special goes far beyond his board service. He shows up to entertain us with his singing, joke-telling, and BINGO calling. He helps serve at our monthly social mixers, always with a smile and quick wit. He is the driving force behind Port's Got Talent, which has raised thousands of dollars in sponsorships for our center. Wherever he is needed, Warren is there. 🤗

We are so lucky to have you, Warren. This honor is so well deserved. Congratulations and thank you for all you do! ❤️

What an incredible morning!🥋✨

We were honored to have Nassau County Comptroller Elaine Phillips lead us in a powerful Self Defense Workshop. With 29 years of Korean Martial Arts training and a 6th-degree black belt, Elaine brought energy, expertise, and so much inspiration to our center.

Our participants, which included our very own, Kathy Walsh Levinson, also a 6th-degree black belt, walked away with real skills, greater confidence, and plenty of smiles. 💪

A huge thank you to Elaine and Nassau County for making this experience possible for our community. We hope to welcome her back soon.

Our center was chosen as this year's Keller Williams Gold Coast RED DAY recipient on May 14th & we're still pinching ourselves! ❤️

An extraordinary team of 40+ “RED ANGELS” led by Lisa Joa, showed up and showed out. They transformed our kitchen from top to bottom, then turned our front outdoor space into a real garden, complete with chairs to sit, breathe, and enjoy. They brought delicious pizza from Gino's of Manhasset, Joseph Castagna, the comedian, had us in tears, an incredible duo, The Bells 2.0, got us up & dancing and BINGO, with a side raffle of showstopper prizes, was over the top!! We finished it all off with a round of chair volleyball, because why not end a perfect day with a new game for summer.

To every single person who gave their time, their energy, and their heart, THANK YOU doesn't feel big enough, but we mean it from the deepest place in our hearts. You didn't just give us a clean kitchen or a beautiful garden. You gave us the feeling of being truly seen and cared for. That's a gift we will never forget.

Everything is just “peachy” in the kitchen…even when we serve 50+ members on a Tuesday and Christie’s in the kitchen! 🤣Monday through Thursday we serve it up hot, healthy and with a little sugar on top. 🍑🤗
