While we are unable to help this time due to conflicting schedules, I wanted to share this.

This morning, over 60 representatives from local and state service organizations met to coordinate efforts for aid in Ohio County. Our hearts go out to everyone impacted, including many of those who are also providing assistance to others.
A few things to note:
1. DO NOT GO TO TRIADELPHIA. Wait until it is cleared by Ohio County EMA.
2. EVERYONE impacted by flooding, please complete this form for WV VOAD. This is how the state assesses the need and mobilizes help. https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/de033ec0327f4a5db41884eb5fc0974b
3. If you need assistance from the Red Cross, please call them at 1-800-Red-CROSS. They are also assessing where their services are most needed.
4. The shelter at Elm Grove Elementary has closed and anyone displaced by the flood will now be served by the Salvation Army shelter at 140 16th Street. Thank you to members of today’s coordination meeting for brainstorming the idea to utilize the Salvation Army’s former shelter, reaching out to them, and working with them to provide the items they needed in order to open. We appreciate the partnership.
5. NO CLOTHING DONATIONS ARE CURRENTLY NEEDED. There are two drop off locations in Wheeling listed below. Please call EMA Central Receiving if you have donations. Elm Grove Elementary will be open this week, Monday - Friday from 8am - noon to receive donations and to provide items to those impacted by flooding.
6. If you are interested in volunteering your time, please sign up using this link from The Red Cross: https://volunteerconnection.redcross.org/?nd=intake_content&entry_point_id=26&entry_point_type=global_entry_point&unit_id=200
7. Holy Family Child Care & Development Center will be offering emergency child care for up to 4 hours for anyone helping with recovery (first responders, direct service orgs) and families in the process of clean up who need child care while they muck out their homes. Call 304-242-5222 and follow their page for daily updates on hours.
8. Monetary donations for flood relief may be made to the United Way. It is most helpful to direct all donations to one central organization. United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley is experienced in managing receipt and distribution of these funds. https://unitedwayuov.org/give/ohio-valley-flood-relief-april-2024/
9. Tdap Vaccines will be available: Starting tomorrow available at Command 1 at Riesbecks in Elm Grove (starting at 8:30am) and walk-in at Ohio County Health Department (9am-4pm). Health Right will also be on site with vaccinations, NO ID required.
10. Our scheduled food distribution with Mountaineer Food Bank will take place as scheduled on Tuesday from 10-11:30am at Wheeling Island Casino's parking lot. See previous posts for all pertinent information.
11. The Soup Kitchen of Greater Wheeling, Inc. is providing hundreds of meals to first responders and those impacted by flooding. Please visit their page for specific items they need in order to continue those efforts.
Don't forget to fill out the survey for VOAD if you were in any of the areas impacted by the flooding! If you need assistance completing Survey123, please call WV 2-1-1 and they can assist you with completing the form.
We will provide updates as they come. Thank you to first responders for their ongoing efforts.
