The welcomed its first tournament this weekend. The event, brought in by 200x85, drew 18 teams and roughly 400 players and family members to Port Wentworth for three days of competition.
"This facility is on par with the professional hockey team, Carolina Hurricanes, practice facility," one father said while watching his son's team. Another parent pointed to the sightlines and said, "The facility is absolutely beautiful. We're enjoying the clear glass of the new facility."
The Ice Cove can hold its own against professional caliber standards while still feeling like an inviting spot that local families can enjoy year 'round.
Between games, families found their way to the newly opened Frozen Anchor Sports Bar to refuel.
The pro-shop is being stocked with local merch and all the supplies to keep the teams ready to take home the trophy.
