🎊 We’re proud to welcome our newest officer to the Port Wentworth Police Department—Officer Joseph Galina!

Officer Galina was officially sworn in by Chief Kerry Thomas, with the honor of being pinned by his wife. We are excited to have him join our team and look forward to his service to our community.
In addition, Chief Thomas also swore in four Bailiffs: Joe Lewis, Pernell Wilson, Carla Rodriguez, and Marc Smith. We are grateful for their commitment and proud to have each of them as part of our department.

🚔Missing Runaway🚔

The Port Wentworth Police Department is asking for assistance in locating a missing juvenile. Jayden Rivera-Ceballo was last seen around 3pm today in the Rice Creek area of Port Wentworth. He is 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs approximately 150 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing khaki pants with a white polo shirt.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Jayden Rivera-Ceballo is asked to call the Port Wentworth Police Department at 912-964-4360 or after hours the Chatham County Dispatch Center at 912-652-6500.

Those with information may also utilize Crime Stoppers or Tip411.

Appleby Road between North Coastal Highway and Chiswick Street will be closed on Saturday, April 11 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for scheduled road work.

⚠️ Traffic Alert – GA Hwy 25 Closure ⚠️

🚨🚓 Due to a traffic accident, Georgia Highway 25 is currently shut down in both directions from the South Carolina state line to Bonnybridge Road.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes and expect delays in the area as crews work to clear the scene. Please drive carefully and follow the directions of law enforcement officers on site.

We will provide an update once the roadway has reopened.

🚨🍀 Operation Lucky Charms 2026 🍀🚨

The Port Wentworth Police Department is kicking off Operation Lucky Charms 2026 — a community safety initiative running from March 14 through March 17, 2026.

Throughout this operation, our officers will be working proactively to promote safe driving and responsible celebrations during St. Patrick’s Day festivities. Our goal is to keep all residents and visitors safe by focusing on DUI enforcement, traffic safety, and community visibility.

Enjoy the celebrations responsibly, plan ahead for a safe ride home, and look out for your neighbors. Let’s make this St. Patrick’s Day weekend a safe and enjoyable one for everyone in Port Wentworth!

First, we proudly recognize Mrs. Amanda King for her outstanding work as Accreditation Manager in helping the Port Wentworth Police Department obtain certification from the State of Georgia Law Enforcement Certification Program. Her dedication, commitment, exemplary service, and exceptional leadership have been instrumental to the success of our Accreditation Program.

We also congratulate Scott Robider in recognition of his outstanding dedication, commitment, exemplary service, and exceptional leadership in support of his coworkers and the Port Wentworth Police Department Accreditation Program. Scott’s continued support and teamwork play a vital role in our department’s success.

Additionally, we congratulate Lt.
