The Georgia Southern Men's Hockey season opener will be played at the Ghost Pirates Ice Cove on Sept. 11th. We're thrilled to welcome them to Port Wentworth.

This is bigger than one game. It is a glimpse into what the Ice Cove means for our entire region. It also serves as another family friendly activity for our residents. Come watch the Eagles kick off their season and see why Ice Cove is becoming one of the region's biggest draws.

CORRECTION: Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children & students.
Credit cards and Venmo accepted at the door.

September is shaping up with a lot of activities.

We have two free festival style events this month:
09.12.26: Join us for 912 Community Day for your tour of the VyStar Pavilion and Ice Cove. The ribbon cutting is at 11AM and festivities begin immediately after.

09.25.26: We're hosting our first festival in the pavilion with live music, dancing, food, games and community connections.

Please note that city offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7th in observance of Labor Day.

This year's La Fiesta Hispana will be held at the VyStar Pavilion That means we will follow the facility's guidelines and restrictions. Here are some things to know as you plan to attend the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration.

The pavilion has permanent seating for 3,000+ people. It holds 5,200 seats but we're utilizing the pit area for a kid zone, vendors and a LARGE dance floor.

Share with your neighbors. This will be our biggest La Fiesta Hispana yet!

Sept. 25th: 5:30PM - 9:00PM
Vendors - Food Trucks - Live Music by Los Adolescentes - Fireworks at 9PM.

The Ghost Pirates Ice Cove welcomed its first tournament this weekend. The event, brought in by 200x85, drew 18 teams and roughly 400 players and family members to Port Wentworth for three days of competition.

"This facility is on par with the professional hockey team, Carolina Hurricanes, practice facility," one father said while watching his son's team. Another parent pointed to the sightlines and said, "The facility is absolutely beautiful. We're enjoying the clear glass of the new facility."

The Ice Cove can hold its own against professional caliber standards while still feeling like an inviting spot that local families can enjoy year 'round.

Between games, families found their way to the newly opened Frozen Anchor Sports Bar to refuel.

The pro-shop is being stocked with local merch and all the supplies to keep the teams ready to take home the trophy.

The first open skate day for the community is on Sept. 12th. Join us for the 912 Community Day for games, live music in the VyStar Pavilion, and free open skating.
