Hi everyone and happy Wednesday!
Here is what was discussed at the PTO meeting yesterday:
-Tat the Staff: PTO spent a total of $80.24 on tattoos and remover wipes; a total of $1,105 was raised on tattoo purchases, so this was a profit of $1,024.76! Amazing! This money was evenly split between the Family House of Porter County, Breakthrough Type 1 Diabetes, and the victims of the horrific tornadoes from March near Lincoln Elementary.
-PTO proudly funded the Snowie NWI snow cone bus, as well as the bounce houses that were used during field day this past Monday. This was a total of $1,229. Money well spent for the deserving students!!!
-Little Free Library: I am receiving the shipments at my house, so once I verify everything was received, I will be reaching out to our groundskeeper Isaac to get it installed!
-Playground: unfortunately we've hit a bit of a snafu. After speaking directly to the Superintendent Alaniz, I was informed that unfortunately, there are going to be massive budget cuts for education within the state of Indiana, and it will be difficult to get any sort of funding for a new playground in the near future. We are not giving up though! We are still going to be putting in a grant application to see what we can do.
-That pesky access road...Ok so I personally spoke to the owner of the home to the East of the parking lot who owns the North side of the access road, and he gave permission to us to do whatever we needed to fix the road. I then called the owner of the South side of the access road, and he actually wanted to offload the property. The superintendent is aware, and working with the mayor to take care of it, so hopefully that happens.
As always, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns...or suggestions! Let me know!
