The hours after the school bell rings matter. 💙

For too many young people, the hours between 2–6 p.m. can mean being unsupervised and without a safe place to go. At Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana, we provide a safe, supportive environment where Club kids can learn, grow and reach their full potential after school.

That’s why Return to Learn matters. Your support helps ensure more kids have a safe place to belong when they need it most.

Our Tolleston Opportunity Campus is definitely some “GREAT NEWS!”

Gary, Indiana is positioning itself as one of the great comeback stories of the century. For decades, the city, once home to the country’s largest steel supplier to the automotive industry, was left choking in the smog of an industry that eventually abandoned it. Diminished investment, a fleeing p...

Celebrating our Feel Good Friday with a good book! 📚💙

Our Club kids have been LOVING the incredible variety of books donated through (Books-A-Million) BAM’s Book Drive!

This year, BAM donated more than $6,600 worth of books and educational toys to our Clubs, giving our kids even more opportunities to read, learn and discover something new.

We are incredibly grateful to BAM, Jessica and the entire team for continuing to invest in our Club kids. Thank you for making such a meaningful impact! 📖✨

We’re grateful to see this story recognized by both The NWI Times and the Post-Tribune. Their coverage captures what this moment means for Gary—and what’s possible when a community comes together with a shared vision for its future.

"Almost 13 years ago, volunteers began cleaning out the shuttered Tolleston Middle School for the new Boys & Girls Club. At the time, we never imagined a state-of-the art facility on the same campus", Mayor Melton shared.

When our community needs them, they show up BIG! 💙💚

For Return to Learn, we’re shining the spotlight on just one of our amazing CRCs, our East Chicago Katherine House Club Resource Council! This incredible group continues to show up in a BIG way for our East Chicago Club kids and community.

Just this year, they hosted a Free Throw Marathon that raised more than $10,000, collected over 4,000 pairs of socks and raised $1,400 through their sock drive, and helped give back during our community food distribution.

We are so lucky to have this amazing CRC in our corner, always showing up, giving back and making a difference for our kids and community! 💙💚

Thank you to all who attended our Tolleston Opportunity Campus ribbon cutting yesterday. The Gary Club has undergone an incredible transformation, creating an updated, welcoming space where young people can learn, grow, connect and build their futures. With expanded opportunities and a facility designed with today’s youth in mind, this renovation represents a meaningful investment in the children and families of Gary.

We’re incredibly grateful to the partners, donors and community leaders who helped make this vision a reality. Together, we’re breathing new life into a familiar place and creating new possibilities for the next generation.

The comeback is happening in Gary—and our kids are at the heart of it. 💙
