Cleaner air and energy is one goal in the long-term transportation plan for Northwest Indiana, NWI 2050. Solar power produces zero carbon emissions and reduces the need to create that energy from fossil fuels. NIRPC is a sponsor of the Solar United Neighbors project, the Northwest Indiana Solar and EV Charger Co-op, which helps residents reduce the costs of equipment for solar energy.

We had a good meeting. Many issues were discussed. The main focus was building for the future in areas concerning almost every area of a human life, even religion. You should have been there! It was something to behold! They addressed tough, hard issues and vowed to make a report from the meetings that they conduct in the near future. There hasn't been a meeting like this in quite some time. Hope and pray they keep it up. It will be good for the region!!
