Our Executive Director, Jason Kegebein, is in Indianapolis this week attending the Indiana Housing Conference, hosted by Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority

Jason is spending the week connecting with housing leaders and community partners from across Indiana, advocating for the families and individuals we serve, and learning about the latest changes, resources, and opportunities impacting affordable housing and homelessness throughout our state.

At Family Promise of Porter County, we believe that staying connected and informed helps us better serve our community and continue finding new ways to help individuals and families move from homelessness to hope, stability, and home.

After seeking safety from domestic violence, one determined client entered our shelter ready to rebuild. During a 59-day stay, they maintained full-time employment, improved their finances, and saved enough to secure permanent housing. 💛🏡

Today, this individual is safely settled into a new home and attending classes after being accepted into a veterinary program. 🐾📚

We are incredibly proud of everything they have accomplished. Their journey is a powerful reminder of what can happen when determination meets compassionate support and a safe place to begin again. ✨

There’s a lot happening at Family Promise of Porter County as we continue moving forward with progress, gratitude, and new beginnings. 💜

This month, we’re sharing updates on our storm recovery efforts, exciting progress at our new family shelter, our new website, and more! We’re also ramping up our Shooting Star Campaign as we make the final push to raise the remaining $50,000 needed to complete and equip our new family shelter. ⭐🏠

Exciting progress is happening at our new site! 🏠

From fresh paint and new flooring to updated rooms, cabinetry, and essential facilities, the space is truly beginning to come together. Significant progress has been made, and with each completed project, we move one step closer to creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for the families we serve.

We’re closing in on the final push, and we cannot wait to see this vision become a reality. Stay tuned—more updates are coming soon!

Today, we are saying a heartfelt thank-you and farewell to our wonderful intern, Katie! 💛

Over the past several months, Katie has brought so much positivity, compassion, and dedication to Family Promise of Porter County. From assisting our case managers and supporting our families to lending a hand at events and wherever else she was needed, Katie quickly became a meaningful part of our team.

Her contributions went far beyond simply completing an internship. Katie approached every opportunity with kindness, enthusiasm, and a genuine desire to help others. Her presence has made a lasting impact on our staff, the families we serve, and our entire organization.

Katie, thank you for choosing Family Promise as your temporary home and for sharing your time and talents with us. You will be dearly missed by our staff, but we are incredibly excited to see where your next chapter takes you. We know

It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with local professionals, share the mission of Family Promise of Porter County, and discuss the many ways our community can help families experiencing homelessness achieve stability and lasting independence.
