INCIDENT RECAP: High-Angle Medical Rescue
Not every call is the same! On Sunday evening around 7:45 PM, Portageville Rescue was dispatched to the 400 block of East 4th Street for a unique rescue call.
An individual had climbed a tree to retrieve an item when they suffered a medical emergency, leaving them unable to climb back down safely.
Responding firefighters quickly deployed ladders to reach the individual, secured them safely in a rescue harness, and carefully lowered them to the ground using a rope system. The patient was immediately turned over to the waiting EMS crew and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Great job to all crews involved for a quick, safe, and professional multi-agency response!
