Thank you Dr. Bice and Sheriff Brown for your service!

The simple act of handing over a wooden paddle became a powerful symbol of the past meeting the present in Bulloch County this week, as former principal Billy Bice reconnected with Sheriff Noel Brown.

Our schools invite veterans and the community to attend our Veterans Day programs. Thank you to our veterans, some of whom are our employees, for your service and sacrifice.

Our students learn about patriotism through our nation's patriotic traditions, written words and music. We look forward to them putting these lessons in practice as they honor the heroes who've served our country.

Thank you, Bulloch County! The education special purpose local option sales tax (E-SPLOST VI) passed with 66.6% of the vote (6,076 Yes to 3,048 No).

Your support will make these projects possible:
✅Construction of a new Southeast Bulloch High School and renovation of its four feeder schools for the Southeast Bulloch zone to provide capacity to serve the current and future student population.
✅Purchase of mobile classrooms to provide needed classroom space across the district.
✅Construction and equipping of a new multi-purpose facility at Statesboro High School
✅Construction and equipping of a new gymnasium facility at Portal Middle and High School
✅Construction and equipping of two new school facilities for Pre-K to Eighth Grades.
✅Purchase of land for future school sites.
✅Move capital related expenses out of the General Fund to alleviate the need to pay for them with property taxes. These are purchases such as curriculum materials, technology infrastructure and equipment, school buses, school nutrition equipment, furniture and equipment for schools.

Modern classrooms are filled with technology like providing laptops and Chromebooks for each of our faculty and students and interactive whiteboards with touch displays for classroom instruction. The education special purpose local option sales tax (E-SPLOST) provides funding for the initial purchases and periodic upgrades for these technologies.

Registered voters will decide if the E-SPLOST will be continued for another five-year cycle.

Two of our panthers placed in this year’s Red Ribbon Week poster contest. Their posters received recognition out of all the students in Bulloch county that submitted artwork.

Leilani Marquez in Mrs. McEachin’s 2nd grade class won 3rd place in the Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade division.

Ellie Bennett in Mrs. Leggett’s 4th grade class was the grand prize winner for Bulloch county. She won an IPAD. Congratulations to these amazing artists!

A big shout out to Mrs. Autumn Horton. She worked very hard with many of our students to help them come up with creative and beautiful posters. Thank you, Mrs. Horton, for inspiring creativity every day! Your dedication and passion for art helps our students see the world in different ways and express themselves with confidence. We appreciate you and your love for our students.

Leilani and Ellie are pictured with Mrs. Horton and Mrs. Joyce Stubbs from the Bulloch Alcohol and Drug Council.
