Congratulations to Paislee Williamson, the winner of our first-ever Lineman’s Challenge at the Roosevelt County Fair!

The Lineman’s Challenge was a new addition to our booth this year, giving kids a chance to put their skills to the test and get a small taste of what our linemen do. We had some great competition throughout the week, but Paislee recorded the fastest youth time of the entire fair!

For taking the top spot, Paislee received a Lineman’s Challenge prize pack full of RCEC gear and goodies.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and gave the challenge a try. We had a blast with this new addition and hope you did too!

Meet the Department: Metering

From installing and testing meters to troubleshooting issues and ensuring accurate energy usage readings, our Metering Department plays an important role in providing reliable service to our members.

Pictured from left to right are Clint and Ro. They are the team behind the meters, working each day to maintain our metering system and help ensure every kilowatt is accurately accounted for.

Rebekah Gulley is the winner of the 22” Blackstone Electric Griddle, and Avah Brown is the winner of the GoTrax Electric Scooter!

Please submit your fall 2026 class schedule as soon as possible. Your schedule must be received before the first half of your scholarship can be processed. Please be sure that schedule includes:
-the name of your school or institution
-your name
-student ID #
-and the number of credit hours in which you are enrolled

Schedules may be emailed to [email protected] or delivered to our office.

Power should now be restored to most services that were affected by this outage event. If you are still without power and have not been in contact with our storm crews, please call our after hours number at 575-356-4492 so we can take a look at your individual service. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

We are currently experiencing weather related outages west of Portales, as well as in the Dora, Rogers, and Causey areas. Crews are dispatched to assess the outages and restore power as quickly and safely as possible.

We currently have a job opening for an Electric Utility Groundsman position.

An Electric Utility Groundsman supports operations of our electric infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable service. Position involves outdoor work, occasional heavy lifting, and exposure to weather and worksite conditions.
