We are excited to share that four outstanding students from our community have been selected to participate in the prestigious Washington, D.C. Youth Tour!

These exceptional high school students will take part in an all-expenses-paid trip to our nation’s capital, where they will visit historic landmarks, connect with national leaders, and gain a deeper understanding of American government, leadership, and civic engagement.

Please help us congratulate Julie Tabor, Kaylee Summers, Kourtney Brandenberger, and Timmy Neal on this incredible and well-earned accomplishment. We are proud of all they have achieved and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will continue to make in their schools and communities!

Last week, we welcomed Cade Standifer, Director of Loss Prevention with OAEC, to work with our line department during annual Pole Top Rescue Training. This hands-on training sharpens the critical thinking and practical skills needed to safely respond to emergencies in the field and helps ensure our line workers are prepared to perform life-saving rescues from elevated heights when every second counts.

As part of the training, we also practice live “Mayday” calls with our SCADA department to strengthen emergency response coordination across our organization.

We’re proud of our team’s continued commitment to safety, preparedness, and excellence as we work to uphold the highest standards in utility safety every day.

Due to the extreme drought and excessive temperatures our area has currently been experiencing, we have made the decision to place our electrical protection system on a more sensitive safety setting until weather conditions improve. While this step significantly reduces wildfire risk, it may result in more frequent power outages. We will continue to closely monitor our system during this time and have crews on standby to address outages.

We understand the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding. If you experience an outage, please notify us promptly.

Thank you for your cooperation as we prioritize the safety of our community.
