There is GREAT concern over the weather this afternoon/evening. Timing is showing maybe 6:00 to 8:00 for our area. These storms are individual supercells, not one line like we’re used to. Make your plans now for how you’re going to stay safe this evening. Some of these cells could come without warning. Pay attention to the watches and warnings. Have a plan! Watch the local weather stations. Have ways to receive alerts!

Porter Fire Department Tornado Siren Update

Porter Fire will be working with the Town of Porter to install two new tornado sirens to better serve our community.

The first siren will be located at the Red Barn. This existing siren will be replaced and upgraded with a larger, louder unit to improve coverage.

The second siren will be installed closer to Clarksville to expand alert coverage in that area.

Both sirens will be installed in time for the upcoming rainy season. Testing of the new sirens is planned for early April.

We appreciate your support as we continue working to improve safety for the Town of Porter.
