This Giving Tuesday, please consider a donation in support of St. Elizabeth's Jubilee Center. We remain steadfast in our mission to serve those in need in the Greater Portland area. Your donation, no matter the size, enables us to meet basic human needs through our essentials pantry each Tuesday while building a more just society. Together we can make a difference.

I say this from the heart. “St. Elizabeth’s is wonderful. Being able to get items here frees up money that I can use for my family’s other needs.” -Debbie, a neighbor...

As we gear up for colder temperatures, we are launching our annual coat and boot drive. Many of our neighbors come from warmer climates and don’t have the necessary clothing for Fall and Winter in Maine. Let’s join together to help them keep warm and feel welcome.

Large and Extra-Large sized coats for both men and women are most needed, but coats and boots of all sizes are welcome. Items
should be in clean, good condition and can be dropped off at St. Luke's Cathedral or to any of our other Partner Churches (St. Alban's Episcopal Church, St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, Saint David's Kennebunk, The Episcopal Church of Saint Mary, Falmouth, ME, St. Peter's Episcopal Church, St. Nicholas Episcopal Church - Scarborough, Maine, Trinity Episcopal Church of Portland, Maine) now through December 31.

Monetary donations may also be made for the purchase of new items and can be mailed to St. Elizabeth’s Jubilee Center, PO Box 4036 Portland, ME 04101. Thank you friends for your ongoing support this season!

We are delighted to announce that we have received a grant from Maine Community Foundation to purchase toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss for our Essentials Pantry! The demand for supplies such as these is great as we typically see over 300 neighbors each Tuesday morning. Many asylum seekers do not have access to a dentist, making prevention all the more vital. Good dental health is important for many reasons - in addition to preventing infections these include employment, self-confidence, and expressing emotion such as a smile. We're incredibly grateful to Maine Community Foundation for making this commitment to St. E's and to the neighbors we serve -- thank you!

This week is National Volunteer Week and we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible volunteers who contribute their time, energy, resources and creative spirit to St. E's. They are the backbone of everything we do: telling our story, picking up and distributing donations, inviting participation from friends and family, providing financial and in-kind contributions and welcoming our neighbors with joy each week. Thank you in particular to our 8 partner churches for all that you do! St. Alban's Episcopal Church, St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, Saint David's Kennebunk, St. Luke's Cathedral, The Episcopal Church of Saint Mary, Falmouth, ME, St. Peter's Episcopal Church, St. Nicholas Episcopal Church - Scarborough, Maine, Trinity Episcopal Church of Portland, Maine
