We are now recruiting our second eConsultation Learning Cohort focused on IPV + Health. Eligible social workers will receive 6 free CEUs (4 clinical, 1 ethics, and 1 cultural competency). Thank you to a student in the current BHIP cohort for sharing this compelling, brilliant presentation from 2008 by Dr. Joy DeGruy Leary on Post Traumatic Slave Disorder.

Dr. DeGruy Leary served as an Assistant Professor at Portland State University’s School of Social Work for 20 years. Her research focuses on the intersection of racism, trauma, violence and American chattel slavery. She conducts workshops and trainings in the areas of intergenerational/historical trauma, mental health, social justice, improvement strategies and evidence based model development. Attention Salem-area folks - the Portland DBT Institute (PDBTI) is opening a location in Salem! PDBTI is hosting a meet-and-greet on Thursday October 25th from 5:30 – 7pm at Taproot (356 State Street, Salem, OR). In addition to food, a chance to meet staff and learn more about services being offered, PDBTI’s Associate Director, Andrew White, PhD, will give a 1-CE overview presentation on current trends in the delivery of DBT (CEs are available to individuals who are interested, PDBTI is an accredited provider of CEs through NBCC).

Recruiters will discuss their organization’s benefits, their clinical environments (including approaches to integrated care), the populations they serve, and the rewards of providing care in their communities.
