********Out phones are back up and functioning!!! Thank you for your patience!!!

Currently our non emergency phone lines are down. We will update when they are fixed.

In the meantime, please only call 9-1-1 if you have an actual emergency. Otherwise, please wait until our system is back up to call with basic inquiries.

Congratulations Seth!!

The Portland Police Department is proud to recognize telecommunicator Seth Glidden (middle of photo) as our Civilian of the Month for December.

Seth recently de-escalated a situation where a female with likely behavioral health issues was in a panicked state. His skills helped calm the situation as he was able to communicate next steps for her to receive further assistance.

Seth is always approachable and serves as a valuable trainer for new hires, regularly providing assistance to anyone in the room.

Congratulations Seth!

⚠️TEMPORARY TRAIL CLOSURE NOTICE⚠️ Unitil is planning to temporarily close the Tukey’s Bridge section of the Back Cove Trail for gas line maintenance work for approximately 12 days starting next week. We’ll share information about the exact closing and re-opening dates, but for the timeliest updates, check Unitil’s page.

Unfortunately, this closure will disrupt the daily commutes of the trail users who rely on this part of the trail. However, Greater Portland Metro is offering free bus rides during the closure for commuters who board the bus at any of the following stops:

Washington Avenue at Eastern Prom (Route 7, 9B)
Washington Avenue at Galvin Street (Route 9A)
Veranda Street/Sherwood Street Inbound (Route 7)

If you’re a cyclist, the buses have bike racks to assist with transport.

The rest of the trail will remain open!

For questions or more information about this closure, you can reach out directly to Unitil at 1-888-301-7700.
