Oregon needs to build more homes available to Oregonians at all ages, wages and stages of life, in every community across the state.
Last week my office hosted a Housing Production Roundtable to convene policymakers, housing advocates, home builders, architects, and affordable housing providers to discuss potential policy solutions to help Oregon build more homes and address our statewide housing crisis. With a challenging budget year ahead, we can't count on state resources to spur housing production; Oregon will have to find ways to modify public policy to get more homes built in our communities, and I'm so grateful for all the ideas and generative conversation from this week's event.
Thank you so much to Senator Dick Anderson, Rep Mark Gamba, Portland Councilors Candace Avalos, Elana Pirtle-Guiney, Tiffany-Koyama Lane and Metro Councilor Duncan Hwang for attending.
