Many of Shelter’s widowed employees became widows after their husbands drank pesticides after loosing crops to drought. This NYtimes interactive does a nice job showing the plight of millions of South Indian farmers. After visiting South India in June 2015 with temperatures to the 120s F (without the relief of air conditioning), it is not too much of a leap to think that climate change very well might make some of these areas uninhabitable.
