This past Saturday, our community gathered for Hungry for Hope with Sister Simone Campbell, and we are still feeling SO grateful. 💙

Together, we raised $10,571, exceeding our fundraiser goal by 41%, through the incredible generosity of community!

In a time that can feel heavy, we were reminded that hope is something we choose together. Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, sponsored, and supported this gathering. You helped create something truly meaningful.🙌

In solidarity, we will also be donating $237 to the Portland Immigrant Rights Coalition to support their important work alongside immigrant and refugee communities.

Last Saturday’s Spring Picnic was a beautiful reminder of what community can be. We lucked out with a sunny day, and together we shared a meal, laughter, and simple moments that made space for connection and belonging.✨

During the picnic, we took time to celebrate the volunteers who have been showing up in our community with such generosity and heart. YOU help make this community what it is.

This is what it looks like when we come together! ❤️

While the Neahkahnie House is away at Regional Gathering, something special will be happening at home. The kitchen, the heart of daily life here, will be transformed.✨

We are incredibly grateful to share that $30,000 has already been given toward this project, thanks to a generous anonymous donor and St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church. This generosity is making the core of the renovation possible.

We still need help bringing the full vision to life.

Remaining needs include:
• Two new refrigerators — $2,000
• Vent hood over the stove — $200
• Locking med nook cabinet — $535
• Kitchen credenza — $150
• Contact paper — $50
• Kitchen utensils — $30
• Dish rack — $30
• Updated window coverings (full downstairs) — $1,390

If you feel moved to be part of this transformation, we would be so grateful for your support. Together, we are creating a space where daily life, connection, and belonging can flourish.💙

What a night to remember 💃✨

Our Spring Dance was filled with so much joy, laughter, and connection. We were especially grateful to welcome so many new friends who chose to spend their Friday evening with us. There is something so meaningful about a room full of people coming together, just as they are, to share in joy, dance freely, and feel a deep sense of belonging.💙

A heartfelt thank you to Grace Memorial Episcopal Church for so generously hosting us in such a beautiful space, and to Ashley for baking the most delicious cupcakes that made the night even sweeter.🧁

We are already looking forward to the next dance and all the moments of joy it will bring!

For the past two days, we had the joy of welcoming EverABLE , a disability-inclusive film company, to L’Arche Portland as part of their journey across L’Arche communities throughout the United States.

They are gathering “Sacred Stories,” lifting up the shared experiences that connect us all; stories of spirituality, friendship, belonging, and what it means to be fully human. It was an honor to be part of this beautiful project and to share the heart of this community.

We're so grateful for L'Arche USA who secured the grant that made this all possible, and for kicking off the filming with a delivery of coffee and baked goods from Grand Central Bakery .

We are so grateful that the voices of this community are being heard and celebrated. We cannot wait to see some of our friends on the big screen in the years to come!

This Easter, we gathered around the table, shared laughter, hunted for eggs, and soaked in the simple joy of being together.🐰

There is something about this season that invites us to notice what is quietly growing. New life, fresh beginnings, and the gentle hope that comes with them. It reminds us that even after long seasons, something new can emerge, often in ways we do not expect.

We had such a lovely time together in community, and we hope you did too with the people you love.💛
