PSA: It's fledgling season and the crows near our school are getting a little protective of their babies. Dive bombings and aggressive "Caw Caw Caws" have been reported along 32nd Ave. and Gladstone St. Be careful out there Grout walkers! It's not called a MURDER of crows for nothing.

Mr. Ferguson’s Funky-Fresh Fourth Grade Class took a field trip to the Oregon Historical Society today. Thank you to TriMet for getting them there and back! Thank you to Oregon Historical Society guides Darren and Chet for leading them through some of the incredible “Experience Oregon” exhibit!! And thank you to all the parents who chaperoned!!! Field trips like this are only possible with the help of our amazing parent volunteers.

Good News: Thanks to the passage of Measure 26-261, if any Grout kids (or their parents) want to come back and see more of the museum, it’s free for all Multnomah County residents! That's right, we can see the legendary Portland Penny for zero pennies.

I scream! You scream! We all scream (with joy and excitement) for the 3rd Annual Ice Cream Bike Bus to Fifty Licks on Wednesday, June 3rd. We're so excited to join Glencoe, Abernethy, Richmond, Sunnyside, Atkinson, Creston, and Winterhaven for a fun, family friendly ride to Fifty Licks. Ice cream will be free for Grout students but donations are encouraged.

🚲🚲🚲We'll gather in the back plaza near the playground, departing at 2:45 after school. Helmets are required. Parents/Teachers/Staff/Imaginary Friends all welcome!

Tonight we hosted a popcorn social to celebrate our mural and build community. Thank you to the organizations that set up tables at our event. ❤️❤️❤️ We love you SUN School, Creston-Kenilworth Neighborhood Association , Friends of Brooklyn Park, Grow Portland, and Southeast Portland Girls Basketball Club. ❤️❤️❤️

And thank you to all the families that spent their evening with us. Hopefully you were able to convince your kids to eat a nutritious dinner along with all that delicious popcorn and candy. 🍿🍬🍿🍬🍿

We love doing fun things at the school. Exciting things! Big things! All these things are possible with community involvement AND community fundraising.

If you have the ability to donate again, we are only 56% of the way to this year's GoFundMe goal. We’ve had 19 families donate to our “No Stuff” fundraiser so far. We would love to finish this year by reaching our goal of $3000.
