Ready. Set. ACTION! Community Leadership

Public health lives in our environments: the air we breathe, water we drink, sidewalks we walk and parks we enjoy. These are not amenities — they are lifelines. Good health doesn’t just happen — communities set the stage to shape it.

How to take action and get involved?

✅ Invest in walkable, green and climate-resilient communities
✅ Support community clean-up and beautification projects
✅ Participate in Bike, Bus and Safe Routes to School initiatives

Together, we can identify climate solutions that improve public health and build more resilient communities. 🌱

Ready. Set. ACTION! Scientific Advancement

Science is not abstract — it is the reason most children live past the age of five and most adults live well into later life. Science delivered vaccines, sanitation, seatbelts and safer workplaces.

How to take action and get involved?

✅ Promote science literacy and misinformation prevention
✅ Accelerate research-to-community translation
✅ Expand access to preventive screenings and vaccinations
✅ Advocate for evidence-based policymaking

Together, we can innovate and rely on science-backed decisions to improve public health outcomes for individuals and communities. 💡

Join us in Celebrating National Public Health Week, April 6 - 12, 2026

Ready. Set. Action! is this year’s theme. As we celebrate, take a moment to recognize how public health has improved our daily lives, safeguarded our families, expanded our life spans, and strengthened our communities. This week is also a chance to honor the public health workers who show up for us every day — and to advocate for policies and practices that promote good health for all.

Ready. Set. ACTION! Government Partners

Government agencies and public health professionals must row in the same direction. Coordination is the backbone of clean water, safe food, disease prevention and emergency response. Good health doesn’t just happen — it’s built on a foundation of safety and sanitary laws enacted by governments to keep us all healthy.

How to take action and get involved?

✅ Support policies that prioritize equitable distribution of public health resources
✅ Strengthen partnerships between federal and state authorities, public health departments, schools, health care systems, Tribal Nations and local leaders
✅Improve emergency preparedness through shared data systems, workforce investment and readiness training

Together, we can advocate for a stronger foundation and policies that promote a healthier world for all. 🌎
