What’s a farm without a cat and dog? Let’s celebrate our furry friends with the Jay County Farm Bureau, Inc. and Jay County 4-H. Families are invited to drop by the library on Thursday, June 18 from 5-7 p.m. and make a creative cat painting and towel dog craft. Jay County 4-H Cat club members will be hosting a cat show in the library. Outside, Jay County 4-H Dog Club members will be hosting agility demonstrations. A 4-H animal petting zoo will also be available for families to enjoy. Finally, come see the Midwest Pet Refuge and Jay County Humane Society, who will be bringing cats and dogs for families to meet and potentially adopt. No registration is required. We’ll have a paws-itively good time and we want you to join us!

This Friday, May 29th, we will be doing a tree seedlings drive-thru-style giveaway for some pretty cool trees! It will take place from 9am-12pm here at City Hall, front parking lot area. Please call the mayor's office if you have questions! 765-348-0412

Jay Schools is excited to offer FREE meal pickup for all children 18 years old and younger this summer at East Jay Elementary!

📍 Location: East Jay Elementary
225 Water St, Portland, IN 47371
➡️ Enter from US 27 and follow the pavement lines to Door 5 by the dock.

🗓️ Beginning June 3rd

✅ Wednesdays | 11am–1pm
• 5 breakfast meals & 5 lunch meals per child

🆕 Mondays | 11am–12pm
• 2 breakfast meals & 2 lunch meals per child

🍎 Attend both days to receive the maximum number of meals each week!
