It may be a little late, but our gratitude is right on time đź’™

On behalf of the United Way of Jay County, we want to send a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who made Peggy’s Plunge in February such an incredible success.

From the early planners and behind-the-scenes helpers, to those who raised funds, showed up, and bravely took the plunge… this event simply would not exist without each and every one of you. You turned a chilly day into something truly powerful for our community.

A very special thank you to the Portland Fire Department for your support and everything you did to help make this event safe and successful. We appreciate you more than words can say. đźš’

And to our amazing sponsors and supporters, your generosity helped bring this event to life:

The Jay County Fair Board is excited to announce the grandstand entertainment lineup for "The Great Jay County Fair," happening in Portland, Indiana, from June 27 to July 4, 2026! Attendees can enjoy a wide array of thrilling events, such as racing, demolition derbies, autocross, concerts, donkey baseball, professional wrestling, delicious fair food, a top-rated carnival (Kissel Entertainment), and much more!

Headlining the grandstand on Friday, July 3rd, is the legendary rock and roll phenomenon, Quiet Riot! Recognized as the first heavy metal band to reach #1 on Billboard’s pop charts, this iconic Los Angeles quartet became an overnight sensation with their 1983 smash album “Metal Health.” More than 40 years later, Quiet Riot continues to thrill audiences around the world. With over 15 million records sold worldwide, 2.8 million monthly Spotify listeners, and more than 1 million social media followers, they remain a powerhouse in the music industry. Local favorites 127 North will open the show.

Jay County Fair President Travis Theurer shared that the selection of Quiet Riot was driven by community input. “One of the most important things we do as a fair board is listen to our supporters,” said Theurer. “After recently surveying our fairgoers, it was clear they want us to continue rotating musical genres each year. This year, classic rock came out on top.”

The week will culminate on Saturday, July 4, with a spectacular Independence Day fireworks show.

“There’s something special about celebrating the Fourth of July at your county fair,” said Aaron Loy, past Fair President. “Fireworks, family, agriculture, and tradition—that’s what Jay County is all about.”

Beyond the concert, "The 154th Great Jay County Fair" will feature grandstand events every night! The complete schedule of events is listed below.

Tickets for all grandstand events go on sale to the public starting Monday, February 23, at 8 AM EST. Secure your tickets online at www.jaycountyfair.com.

Fair stockholders can pre-purchase their tickets at the fair office before public sales begin. The office will be open for stockholder sales on Saturday, February 21, from 9 AM to 12 PM.

“We invite everyone—longtime supporters and first-time visitors alike—to come celebrate 154 years of Jay County tradition with us,” Theurer said. “This fair belongs to the community, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back.”
