Today, we mourn the loss of Dolly Parton: Tennessee icon, musician, and the queen of authenticity.
-
Dolly never pretended to be anyone but Dolly, and she never asked anyone else to pretend either. She fiercely championed the LGBTQ community, the rights of working women, and, through her Imagination Library, donated millions of books to give children the freedom to read.
-
We honor her today. She stitched "a coat of many colors" and made it big enough for all of us. 🕊️🦋

We won our Supreme Court case defending birthright citizenship, but the president is once again trying to upend the plain language of the 14th Amendment. The Court was clear, and the Constitution protects these children — no ifs, ands, or buts.

Incarcerated Mainers are pushing back against a longstanding loophole in the Department of Corrections disciplinary policy that allows staff to issue punishments before and regardless of a finding of guilt.
