What an afternoon! JFCS/MJCC's 4th annual Schmoozapalooza Senior Prom was all that jazz—and so much more! The music was swinging, the dance floor was hopping, and the smiles were absolutely contagious! More than 100 community members joined us for our celebration of music, friendship, connection, and Roaring ’20s magic!

The phenomenal Carroll Raaum Swing Orchestra brought down the house with their incredible big band sound, keeping spirits high and toes tapping all afternoon! From dancing and laughter to fabulous photo booth moments, delicious treats, and new friendships, the room was bursting with energy and joy.

A huge round of applause for the band, Kyle for capturing all the fun in the photo booth, and dance instructor Brynna for getting everyone moving with lively 1920s dance steps. And a heartfelt thank-you to our amazing volunteers, whose creativity, beautiful decorations, gorgeous floral centerpieces, and warm hospitality made the afternoon so special.

This is what community looks like—coming together, celebrating life, making memories, and sharing moments of pure joy.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this year's Schmoozapalooza such an unforgettable celebration!

Our hearts are with the Silver Rail Elementary School community and everyone affected by the recent mass shooting in Bend. As students return to the classroom, we recognize that this may bring up many different emotions and experiences for students, families, educators, staff, first responders, and the broader community.

Healing takes time, and no one should have to navigate it alone.

Please be gentle with yourself and with one another. If you or someone you know could use additional support, reaching out is a sign of strength. Our thoughts are with everyone impacted as the community continues to heal.

Today, we remember the lives taken on October 7, 2023, and honor their memory. Our thoughts are with the survivors, the families who lost loved ones, and all whose lives were forever changed. For many in our community, the grief of that day remains close. Ongoing antisemitism, including here in Oregon, adds to the fear and worry people carry for themselves, their children, and those they love. No one should have to feel unsafe because they are Jewish.

We wish there were words that could ease that pain. What we can say is that JFCS stands with our community, and our commitment to your well-being continues throughout the year. Today, we remember those we lost and hold close those living with the pain of that day.
