Julie Wallace of Wallace Books is one of our key partners and she let us in on a recent remainders acquisition and donation of manga titles - one of our constant needs and highest requested genre.

We were excited to shelve these in the library tonight and had a full house of volunteers helping match titles to letters.

We're on track to make July our busiest mailing yet for 2026, stay tuned to hear soon about more ways you can help us reach our goals this season 📖

We wrap all our outbound parcels in recycled paper grocery and shopping bags, and we are running LOW!

With the demand increasing and our sessions being full of volunteers prepping books for shipment, we have been regularly running through our stock of materials.

We received an incredible donation of comic books at last night's letter matching session.

Some of our regular volunteers got to sorting with the board, checking for content that is on the institution's restrictions list, and prepping the collection to be integrated into our library.

Can we get on your dance card for the summer?

Portland Books Through Bars will be popping up in a lot of places between June and September 📚

Starting tomorrow, we will have a table set up at the festival in Lillis-Albina park!

Then we have a two-in-one for ya, as we kick off both and ALSO joining as a community partner for the .books Summer Community Celebration - both on June 25th 🍰 🍕

We have two incredibly exciting events to announce soon too, stay tuned and hope to see you out there 😎

It’s about that time! 📚

On Wednesday, June 24th at 6pm, we will be opening up the next round of sign ups for our weekly volunteer letter matching sessions.

All sessions for July through September will be released at this time and you will be able to sign up for your first selections of the new year.

Because of how long our wait lists have been getting, we would like to ask you all that in the first day our sessions open for you to only pick TWO sessions per month to attend.

Our hope is that more of you, who have been patiently waiting, will then be able to attend one of our letter matching sessions before the next quarter is up.

After the first 24 hours have passed, then you’re welcome to sign up for as many sessions as you may like!
