The Portland State University chapter of the American Association of University Professors advances academic freedom and quality higher education for the common good, on our campus, in Oregon, and nationally. We are committed to higher education of quality and integrity, and to the just and fair access to higher education for all students. Our members include all teaching and research faculty, res
earchers, academic advisers, and academic professionals. To advance academic freedom, quality higher education, and just and affordable higher education, the PSU-AAUP:
- Leads collective bargaining with the administration of Portland State University on behalf of all faculty and academic professionals;
- collaborates with PSU Faculty Senate on faculty governance issues and shared concerns over educational quality and faculty and academic welfare that are core to the mission of both bodies.
- partners with student leaders and organizations, and organizations representing other university workers, under the umbrella of our stakeholder union, Together 4 PSU; and
- works alongside Oregon elected officials in Salem.
