We are now in the sprint toward the finish line as election day is only nine days away. So while we may be growing weary, it's time to capture that second wind and push to victory on November 6th. As busy as any of us may be, we each can certainly make some time to telephone in support of our Republican candidates. A bit of inconvenience, a slightly larger pile of laundry, a frozen pizza for dinner or a missed television program; these are small sacrifices when compared to the cost to our country and state of continued control by Democrat politicians.
The Republican get out the vote (GOTV) strategy for Oregon has recently changed from calling the swing states in support of the the presidential election to one of calling Oregon voters in support of not only Romney, but also our state and local Republican candidates. So the Cedar Hills Romney/Ryan call center is closed as of Monday, October 29th. You may still make Operation Swing State calls from home at http://www.mittromney.com/call-home-landing using your telephone and computer.
There are two area calling locations and both daytime and evening shifts are available. Each call site is equipped with four telephones for the Oregon GOTV effort, so it is important that you schedule a shift, that you show up for your shift and that you focus on reaching as many voters as possible during your shift. We need to be enthusiastic and effective.
The Portland area "call center" is located at Suzanne Gallagher's campaign office at 9700 SW Capitol Highway, Suite 120, Portland. Please schedule a call shift by calling 503-931-5704.
The Hillsboro area "call center" is located at Renner Trucking & Excavation at 228 SW Walnut Street, Hillsboro. Please schedule a call shift with Denise Renner at 503-793-1166.
If you cannot make it to either of the two call centers above, you may make telephone calls from home in support of Knute Buehler for Oregon Secretary of State. To request a list of Oregon voters and their telephone numbers together with a script, please e-mail Joel Thomas at Joel@Buehler2012. This calling requires only a telephone and a willingness to promptly reach the voters on the list provided.
Please, please make the time to support our Republican candidates in these final days leading up to the election. Schedule shifts at a call center. Call from home. Talk to your neighbors. Talk to the people in line at the grocery store. Get everyone you know to vote Republican in this all important election. Do what you can but do something. Don't wake up on November 7th wishing that YOU had done more!
