We have our group room discount! Call the Ramada Portland Airport Hotel (503-255-6511) and tell them you want the HOWL CON rate of $50 +tax per night. Yep, fifty bucks! Please note that you MUST call the hotel to book, no online discounting is available.

We just had a meeting with the hotel- apparently the delay on the room rate has just been an internal communications delay from their side. We should FINALLY know our rate after the 28th of November. On the plus side, we are apparently getting a screamingly good deal. Thank you all for your patience and as always for werewolfing!

From Stephen, our HOWL CON Alpha:
Friends and pack, it grieves me to confirm that 2016's HOWL CON cannot be convened as planned. The reasons are manifold, and if you want the grisly details shoot me an email; suffice it to say that venue issues, communication problems, and money woes are at the rent, hemhorraging heart of the matter. I owe you all an apology for not announcing postponement sooner--I took too long looking for some way to save the event, and I'm sorry if this short notice badly inconveniences any of you.

HOWL CON is dear to me and will continue. It's clear, however, that trying to fund an event of this size organically via pre-registrations and dealer payments just isn't going to work. If you believe werewolf horror/fantasy deserves an annual moot, and that wolf conservation & education is a cause worth supporting, please watch for and contribute to a crowdfunding campaign in the coming months to mount another HOWL CON in February 2017.

I'll release details soon of a smaller bridging event in the Portland area--something to keep the embers warm, probably on the scale of a film screening. Meanwhile, please continue to follow and support the fine folks at Wolf Haven International and other sanctuaries near you.

Those of you who have invested in weekend passes and dealer den positions, let's follow up individually about whether you'd like your monies refunded or your registrations rolled over to 2017's event. Thank you everyone for your continuing support. Yours,

HOWL CON II’s new venue is Red Lion Hotel Kelso/Longview, 510 Kelso Drive, Kelso, WA 98626. Kelso is approximately half an hour north of Portland/Vancouver on I-5. Please email me to ask about options if you were relying on an airport shuttle.
