On-the-Move Community Integration Supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in accessing their community through healthy, meaningful, and sustainable activities.

On-the-Move has been called “the happiest place in the world!” Whereas most programs serving individuals with disabilities are site-based programs where activities occur each day at a specific location, On-the-Move is a community-based program where we are active citizens participating in shaping our local culture. We do not stay behind closed doors! On-the-Move activities have a health and welln

ess focus. Many groups volunteer for animal welfare organizations, exercise, go hiking, visit art galleries, farmer’s markets, and do cooking projects. We avoid the mall and fast food! We do lots of volunteer projects and always make a positive impact on our community. We educate ourselves and others on how to be respectful and responsible towards the environment. While we are out making a difference in the world, community members who may not be familiar with inclusive practices can learn from us! We use the word integration because we facilitate a two-way exchange; integration is more than inclusion!

Do you enjoy exploring a new park or endeavoring to locate the most geocaches in an afternoon? Is a visit to the science museum followed by a stroll on the waterfront your ideal work day?
On-the-Move Community Integration is a nonprofit supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in accessing their community through healthful, inclusive, and environmentally responsible person-centered activities. We envision a society that is prepared to include everyone. Communities are at their best when the integration and inclusion of individuals with varying abilities occur.
We are seeking individuals who are driven by our core values such as social justice, diversity, and empowerment. If you are interested in building meaningful, lasting relationships with participants and the community click the link in our bio to learn more and apply!
