Since then, it has made more than 217,000 trips carrying nearly six million riders on the popular aerial conveyance. The cabins, named Walt and Jean, travel 3,300 linear feet between the South Waterfront terminal at 3303 Southwest Bond Avenue, and the upper terminal at OHSU's main campus. Traveling at 22 miles per hour, the Tram cabins rise 500 feet. The Portland Aerial Tram, part of the City’s pu

Go by Bike, Go by Tram - they're both great options. And if you sign up for the Community Cycling Center's Cycle Quest (this Sat, 8/29) you can do both for the price of entry. Registration closes at midnight, Friday 8/28.

Don't sleep on this - a summer evening is a great time to ride the Tram. Of course, you could ride it during the day too. Especially if you're going to visit Made Bike Show - get above it all on the Tram.

Shh... our little secret: very few crowds on the Tram after 7 pm. Which is also a great time to catch the golden hour light on the city, sunset on the mountains, and maybe grab a bite and a drink in South Waterfront.

Just a reminder -this weekend the Tram is open, next weekend it's not.
The Portland Tram will close on Thurs, 5/21 at 7pm and reopen Tues, 5/26 at 5:30 am, after scheduled maintenance is completed.
