This little book is a fun one to pack up and send off to new homes... ❤️

Fieldwork: Madames of Mycology
Edition of 50
Letterpress and laser cut
Swing panel accordion with handmade paper cover

This edition is part of a series of books entitled "Field Work," which looks deeper into the lives and discoveries of early women scientists. Meant to both educate and inspire the reader about the world of women in mycology (fungi) in a playful form, it is part of an ongoing series.

The five women featured in the narrative are: Catharina Helena DĂśrrien, Violetta White Delafield, Johanna Westerdijk, Elsie Maud Wakefield and Miriam C. Rice.

Snippet of the boxmaking crew that came today to build magnetic wrap box with multiple trays. We are on a roll and ready for more covering and building tomorrow.

This group had wonderful questions, creative ideas for color and pattern combinations.

The silent auction and raffle was such a buzzzzzz tonight as many tools, books and supplies were sold. What a great fundraiser for a good cause. ❤️ I won some little things.

More fun ahead tomorrow.

Having a wonderful time at this summer's first camp. Feel like a kid again...
Day 2 of the Focus on Book Arts was finishing the Box making fundamentals class. We made a clamshell box and a slipcase along with the essentials for making more on their own.

More to come in this five day retreat.

Upcoming Workshop Alert!
Oregon Coast Council for the Arts in Newport
Papermaking with Plants
Friday & Saturday, February 27 - 28, 2026

Intertwine your love of plants with your curiosity about how they transform in the papermaking process. In this two-day exploration, we’ll work with local and native harvested plants to create both swatches and finished sheets using local and indigenous fibers.
Fibers will be gathered in advance from a variety of sources, including Rhiannon’s Portland garden and partnerships with community gardens. As we dive into the beating and sheet-forming processes, participants will have the opportunity to take home wet sheets for drying and future creative use. Throughout the two days, students will learn how to cook, process, pull, and dry fibers to create a set of truly unique handmade papers.

Age Range: Adults and youth ages 16+ accompanied by an adult
Registration cutoff date February 24th

A surprise set on my dresser while packing for San Francisco: a studio spotlight in the current issue of "In Her Studio", featuring my letterpress and papermaking practice in Portland.

It feels like a quiet reminder that showing up matters—daily, imperfectly, especially when it’s hard. Keep doing the work. Keep finding ways to be seen. Things unfold.
