As home to the Vancouver/Williams corridor and the Blandena/Going St bikeways, we have a passionate community of cyclists in our neighborhood. You can help out by volunteering to do a shift for the 2026 Bicycle Count!

PBOT’s annual summer bike count is right around the corner, and we’re looking for volunteers to help us gather essential data about biking in Portland. Each year, hundreds of community members volunteer for a short two‑hour shift at intersections around the city, helping us understand how biking is changing across neighborhoods. This year, we will be counting over 350 locations in Portland.

Check out this website to learn more and claim your site for a 2-hour counting shift sometime this summer. Counts are happening now through September 30.

Back by popular demand, Preschool for All applications are open again for Portland Parks & Recreation spots at Matt Dishman Community Center!

Class meets: Monday through Friday • 9am to 3pm
September 2026 through June 2027
Location: 77 Northeast Knott Street

Portland Parks Preschool is dedicated to providing a play-based, child-centered, and inclusive educational preschool program. Our program is based on the developmental philosophy that children develop and grow at their own rate, and it is our goal to honor where each child is in their development.

Why families love it:

+Weekly walks to the new Albina Library for story time
+Indoor pool with family swim right after pick‑up
+Fitness center, plus registered classes, and drop-in activities for all ages on site, including youth sports and art classes, teen/adult boxing, lap swim, water aerobics, and more

If your child will be 3 or 4 by September 1, you are eligible for free preschool! Take advantage of this great opportunity.

Always Here is giving away tickets to OMSI pride!!! like the original post for a chance to win 🌈 ❤️ 🌈

OMSI’s annual PRIDE at the Museum is this Friday and we have tickets to giveaway! This is a family friendly event with drag performances, science demos, and local vendors like us!

On a personal level, we LOVE going to OMSI Pride. This will be our third year as guest vendors – and for those keeping score, we've only been around since 2023! It's become one of the rare 'pop-up bookstore' events we do because we wouldn't miss it for anything. (Despite how much we loved our pop-up era, we don't crave the hard labor of hauling books around town), because OMSI Pride is one of those events that we leave with a little extra spring in our step.

We love meeting q***r families in all sizes and constellations, talking with folks we're in community with who are out celebrating Pride, taking pictures with drag performers working, and rubbing shoulders with the local organizations who help sustain our communities. It's truly just a joy.

And we'll never forget that one time when a group of friends instructed their token straight friend to read them a q***r picture book out loud for the group.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆! (We have 2 pairs of tix to give away!)
