💫This time of year is often especially hard for our loved ones in cages, separated from outside family and community. Each December, CR sends personalized postcards to all of our imprisoned contacts with messages of love and solidarity. This year, each of our chapters are hosting postcard mailing events either online or in-person.

Sign ups to receive your own package of materials to mail and join us remotely (for folks not in CR chapter cities) are now closed due to so many folks joining us already

📣 Join us for a critical discussion on the ongoing war on Palestine. Campaigns Director, Mohamed Shehk, will be joined by Dr. Angela Y Davis, Lara Kiswani (Executive Director of the Arab Resource and Organizing Center ), Stefanie Fox (Executive Director of Jewish Voice for Peace ), and Nadine Naber (INCITE! Women of Color against Violence – National) to help us understand the situation on the ground in Palestine, how our organizations and people everywhere can mount effective resistance to the genocidal war against Palestinians, and how we can use abolitionist strategies such as dismantle-change-build, divest/invest & “defund,” and “shrink and starve” to do so.

Aiming to contribute to fighting against war-making more broadly, this event will examine the relationship of the PIC with Israel’s apartheid and occupation of Palestine, why abolitionists must strongly mobilize in this time, and concrete strategies for how we can fight back.

In the last few weeks alone, the apartheid-state of Israel has killed over 6,000 Palestinians in Gaza and wounded nearly 18,000 while the conditions in the 16-year-long blockade continue to worsen for over 2 million Palestinians as the healthcare system in Gaza has completely collapsed. In only two weeks, Israel has doubled the number of imprisoned Palestinians, as the war has claimed 10,000 prisoners of war (POWs) by the Israeli Prison Services (IPS). Meanwhile, the US government has been giving $3.8 billion in military aid per year to Israel unconditionally, which has funded over 6,000 Israeli bombs dropped on Palestinians in only six days, almost as many bombs as the US dropped on Afghanistan in one year of war.
As abolitionists, we know our praxis requires that we both sharpen our analysis while contributing materially to those struggling in Gaza.

Calling all Critical Resistance Portland supporters!

✨ Critical Resistance 2021 Year-End Giving Circle STARTS TOMORROW - and you can still sign up! ✨

The Critical Resistance Giving Circle will be a series of six sessions, where you can learn about fundraising as a crucial organizing tool in the movement for liberation, sharpen your abolitionist analysis, and take action by fundraising for Critical Resistance.

In this cohort model, along with learning the basics of fundraising for abolition, you will be fundraising for your nearest Critical Resistance chapter or the national organization, which will include setting up a personal fundraising page, crafting a personal fundraising plan, and using that plan to raise funds to sustain Critical Resistance work.

Together, we will fundraise to support Critical Resistance. Each participant will set a personal fundraising goal and be part of the collective effort. We will work together to build skills, practice and successfully fundraise CR’s 2021 year-end fundraising season!

We have seen art fundraisers, music fundraisers, restaurant fundraisers, and many more creative methods of raising money for abolitionist organizing, so there will be plenty of space to be as cool and creative as possible!
